Arrive in Bali and Evening Dinner

After arriving at Bali’s airport you’ll be met and transferred to Ubud.

About 5.30pm you’ll embark on your first Balinese culinary experience, beginning at The Sayan House for a cocktail and Japanese-Latin fusion tapas while overlooking the Sayan Valley at sunset

Witness a traditional Balinese dance beside the candle-lit lotus pond of the Saraswati Palace. 

Dinner is at Manisan, in a semi-open wooden Joglo (traditional Javanese house) set in the rice fields for typical Balinese cuisine.  Celebrate the end of the evening at Room4Dessert with a tasting session of sweet delicacies.

Rice Fields, Art and Balinese Massage

Spend this morning discovering the many charms of Ubud starting with a short walk on the famous Campuhan Ridge, probably the most gorgeous hillside vista in the region. Ubud is famous for it’s art and the Blanco Renaissance Museum bears testament to the most famous artist to have ever lived in Bali, Antonio Blanco. His former home has been converted into a museum with an extensive collection of his works as well as his studio.

From the museum continue drive to Warung Ibu Oka, a busy local eatery that is popular with locals and travellers alike to enjoy the favourite dish of the Balinese people, Babi Guling or suckling pig.

After lunch visit Ubud’s Royal Palace built in the 16th century the palace is still home to Ubud’s king and its royal family. It can be seen from the outside only. Just across the street is the famous market of Ubud – a great opportunity to hunt for souvenirs.

Relax at a spa for a 60-minute Balinese massage with an organic facial or body scrub.

Dinner is served at Bridges Restaurant, a fine dining venue with a fantastic view next to the river.

Cooking Class, Rice Terraces and Mozaic Restaurant

Head to Marga Village in Tabanan for a Balinese cooking class where the local chef will help you create some spectacular Balinese dishes for lunch.

Visit UNESCO-listed Jatiluwih, which offers the widest panoramic view of Bali’s iconic rice terraces for a leisurely hour-long walk through the rice fields here. Then on to the Royal Taman Ayun Temple in Mengwi located in a beautiful fish pond setting.

Dinner at Mozaic, an award winning French-style restaurant for a tasting menu set in a lush and romantic open garden setting or in a cozy dining pavilion.

After an amazing dinner, head back to the hotel.

Ancient Temples and the Art of Coffee

Begin with a visit to Pura Gunung Kawi, the 11th century temple set amid lush rice terraces in the village of Tampaksiring. See elements of Hindu and Buddhist architecture, you’ll learn from your guide about the significance of the temple and its carvings.

Continue to nearby Pura Tirta Empul, a popular water temple for local devotees then take a soak in Tirta Empul’s cool spring water, where the water pours from numerous fountains that fill the pools.

Next visit a coffee plantation in Tegalalang to enjoy a fresh cup of java coffee or tea and a light snack while admiring the views over valley.

Take a break at midday for lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Campuhan ridge before continuing on to the Coffee Studio where you’ll meet with a trained barista to learn the art of making espresso, or latte art or how to judge the quality of coffee.

About 7pm head to Locavore. This award-winning restaurant offers five dishes which are cooked in an open kitchen by a Dutch chef and his team. In between these dishes, be served many small creative “amuse-bouche” for a sample of many different flavors and dishes. Apart from the delicious food, the restaurant is known to use only locally-produced food -no imported food items are used.

Masakan Padang, Uluwatu and a BBQ Seafood Dinner on the Beach

Enjoy the morning at leisure before checking out and departing to the South of Bali.

Lunch will be served in a local Warung in Sanur an authentic Padang food venue. Masakan Padang is the cuisine of the Minangkabau people of West Sumatra. Note that the venue is very basic, yet, authentic!

After checking into your hotel in Sanur, visit one of Bali’s most impressive temples, Uluwatu, which is majestically perched on the edge of a steep cliff. As the sun sets, be treated to a dramatic kecak dance performance, which involves male performers chanting rhythmically and percussively while throwing their arms in the air.

A barbecue seafood dinner under the stars at Jimbaran Bay awaits, with prawns, grilled fish, squid, clams and shellfish.

Overnight in Sanur

Seminyak Food Tour

Enjoy the morning at leisure at the beach or by the pool.

Around 4pm you’ll be picked up for a fun and flavourful night out along the main strip of the hip Petitenget area, a longstanding favorite destination for dining and nightlife in Bali. After cocktails at a rooftop bar at sunset, continue to a chic eatery that combines contemporary international and traditional Indonesian themes for a starter platter followed by Nasi Campur, tapas style in a Javanese Joglo. Dessert is in a stylish lounge set in the rice paddies. Return to the hotel or continue to one of the many bars in the area.
