Arrive in Bangkok
You’ll be met at the airport by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your flight arrival time you may be able to add in an evening out.

Bangkok
After breakfast your guide will show you around the highlights of the City of Angels using just public transport including the BTS Skytrain, ferries and a tuktuk ride. Visit Wat Pho temple, home of Thai massage and the reclining Buddha, the Grand Palace, an interactive museum displaying the Thai way of life through history, lunch in a local restaurant and plenty of time for shopping.
The Train Track Market, the Floating Markets and Death Railway
An hour’s drive south of Bangkok, Samut Songkhram Province offers a glimpse into the country life. You’ll see an amazing market here that covers the railway track and gets packed away as the train nears then reappears after the train passes through.
Stroll around the colourful, floating market, bustling with boats and vendors selling fruit and goods straight from their boats.
Take a train ride across the famous bridge on the River Kwai, often known as Death Railway as many Allied prisoners worked and died here building the tracks for the occupying Japanese army during WWII.
From here it’s a long-tail boat ride to your hotel for the night

Chasing Waterfalls
Bring your togs for a swim at the Erawan Waterfall, a beautiful 7 tiered waterfall. It’s busier on the weekends and public holidays so better to plan your dates around this.

Ruined Temples and Overnight on a Converted Rice Barge
Head by van to the old capital of Siam, Ayutthaya to explore some of the ruined temples there
Then it’s down to the Ayutthaya pier to join the Thanatharee afternoon program, either by bike or walking to a local community to experience a different way of life than what we are used to. Afterwards embark the Thanatharee, a 1940’s converted rice barge for dinner and overnight onboard.

Monks in the Morning and Village Cycling
An early start to prepare some traditional khanom or Thai sweet to give the monks in the daily morning alms round. After breakfast explore a home-industry village to see how they live and work. Lunch is part way through the road trip to Sukhothai.

Working in the Village Farm
On the drive to Chiang Mai, experience what it’s like to work in the village that’s rarely seen by foreigners. Try your skills in the rice paddies, pick fruit and generally get an idea of how farming communities survive and are adopting to sustainable living practices.
Visit Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, a beautifully preserved temple dating back to 1486, and take a horse cart ride through the sleepy town.
Then it’s back on the road to the cultural heart of Thailand, Chiang Mai.

Alms Giving and Hill Tribes
An optional early start to the foot hill of Doi Suthep Mountain to join locals during the daily alms giving ceremony. The procession of barefoot Buddhist monks who pass along the street collecting food. Then visit a temple with golden pagodas and a 14th century temple slowly decaying under it’s covering of moss. Alternatively relax around your hotel or explore the streets of Chiang Mai for a few hours before departing for Lisu Lodge, a hill tribe village set up for sustainable tourism. After lunch there’s a choice of activities you can join to gain a unique hill tribe experience.

Orchids and the Hmong Hilltribe
Visit an orchid nursery where more than 50 types of orchids bloom year round, and butterflies abound. After lunch drive along the hilly roads via some hilltribe villages to your home for the night, surrounded by jungle and rice terraces.

Chiang Mai
After breakfast depart for Chiang Mai.
Optional activities for the day include the Flight of the Gibbon, using zip lines and sky bridges in the rain forest. Or try your hand at Thai Cooking.

Hiking in Khao Sok
Board your flight from Chiang Mai to Phuket and then you’ll be driven to Khao Sok’s National Park for a hike though enormous bamboo forest and strangler fig trees. Hopefully you’ll see some wildlife like long tail macaques and hornbills. Most of the track is fairly basic but fine for most fitness levels.

Outdoor Activities by a Fairytale Lake
Chiew Lan Lake is a stunning lake which is also a habitat for wildlife. You’ll join other like minded adventures for a day of wild life spotting, trekking and swimming.

Total Journey time by road: 2 hours
Paddling Down River and an Elephant Experience
Take in the majestic scenery from your canoe will floating down the Sok River. Hopefully you’ll see all sorts of birds, monkeys and maybe even a snake or two in the tree canopies.
After lunch spend a magical hour feeding and bathing an elephant.
The tour concludes with a drop off at the airport for your onward flight or stop for a few days in Phuket for some rest and relaxation.
